U2 gave us a magnificent impromptu gig in Central London

Here is a post which will make some of you very jealous…

5 pm this afternoon, I receive a link announcing U2 will give a free gig in an hour in Central London. Info? Hoax? We’ll see… I take my camera and dash over to Oxford Circus where I have an appointment with my boyfriend.
We run to Langham Place. There is a crowd, many policemen and journalists… It seems like something will really happen here…
We can see people, spotlights and speakers on the top of a building (the BBC Broadcasting House) … We wait… Some bikers ask us what’s happening; a helicopter flies over the area… then Policemen block the roads, it will start!
Few minutes later, a presenter introduces…U2…
The band performed for 20 minutes singing new song Get On Your Boots taken from their new album No Line On The Horizon.
They also sang perennial favourite Beautiful Day, Vertigo and another new track - Magnificent.
And it was really magnificent! Thank you U2, thank you Bono!
